Light yellow. Strong herbal scents. Medium weight, good smooth texture. Red apple, herb, and lively acidity. Seems like a cross between the very linear 2010 and the rounder 2009.
Medium ruby. Brambly nose. Tighter and more dense than the young Foillard, although by no means heavy. Tart red fruit and cranberry acidity. This still needs time.
Magnum. Even, medium red. Whiskey barrel wood aromatics. Still has red fruit that is very much alive, but a thin, astringent, high acid feel to it. Ironically, in some ways very much like the Beaujolais that was poured before it, but this just did not work for all of the wood there. My first (and worst) Zinfandel of the year.
Really disgusting cork, soaked and caked with black mold. Miraculously, the bottle was not tainted, but it was also not nearly as good or as pure as another one this month. Moderate residual sugar, more subdued pear fruit. Ah, for the want of a better cork...

Light red, slightly turbid. Subtle red fruit, terrific vinous feel and length. Cleaner than a bottle last week. Quite lovely now.
