Flight 1 (3 Notes)

  • 2009 Domaine Henri Richard Gevrey-Chambertin Les Corvées 90 Points

France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Gevrey-Chambertin

Lighter ruby color. Red cherry fruit, ripe but not overripe, slight smokiness; palate is light bodied, structured but very approachable, smooth drinking, cherry and strawberry; medium finish. Very nice, will age nicely for the short term, 5-10 years. 90

  • 1999 Château Péby Faugères 91 Points

France, Bordeaux, Libournais, St. Émilion Grand Cru

Nose of soy (dominant note), earthy, slight basil/green, blackberry; palate is full bodied, blackberry fruits, balanced acidity, good fruits through the midpalate and starts to fade just before the finish; finish is medium length. Drinking well now with some elements of maturity (soy notes), but has at least 5-10 years ahead of it. 91-92

  • 1998 Bosquet des Papes Châteauneuf-du-Pape Cuvée Chantemerle 90 Points

    France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Châteauneuf-du-Pape

Color has very slight bricking appropriate for age, still quite youthful; nose has red cherry fruit, leather, very slight heat, cranberry, good complexity; palate is light-medium bodied with some medium tannins providing some structure, pretty good acid throughout, some red fruits through the midpalate; finish has slight heat. Overall a pretty good CnDP showing some maturity, fairly good balance though a bit of characteristic heat for 1998, maybe a bit short on the palate, a bit of excess alcohol, and finish is short. 90, likely will stand up to 5 years but won't improve.
