Arranged by FOF, presented by Jesper Hedegaard, www.vinforedrag.dk
Presented changes in the Saint-Emilion 2006 Classification, with personal notes on preferences, and winners and loser. 3 2003 wines tasted, all good, however 2 in dire need of cellarage, and 1 that is drinkable (Pavie Macquin). 2 older vintages were added to evaluate the difference, the 2000 showing the early and late trend, being closed. the 1994 to show the mature wine, though in my opinion, it was too old.
6 wines from Côte-Rôtie
mature wines from Bordeaux

2003 Château Monbousquet 93 Points
France, Bordeaux, Libournais, St. Émilion Grand Cru

great bouquet, coffe, plums. Taste very young, green tanins, the aftertaste vanished quickly, and seemed a bit watery compared to the other wines tasted this evening.

2003 Château Fleur Cardinale 92 Points
France, Bordeaux, Libournais, St. Émilion Grand Cru
(1/30/2007)
Great colour, yet very sharp acidity and green tanins. However the bouquet was fantastic, and you could sense the grandeur of the wine, if it ages another 10 years. High alcohol percentage. Dried the mouth out very quickly.

1994 Virginie de Valandraud 85 Points
France, Bordeaux, Libournais, St. Émilion Grand Cru

Dark brick red colour, good balanced smell. Taste seemed slightly tired, however yet was good. Not worth the price in my book
