  Dark core with reddish violet rim; almost raisin on the nose, dark red and dark fruit, violets, almost chocolate; juicy on the palate, pretty, ripe, some leather, Italian, tannins are there but in check; good.

  Pretty see through crimson; roses, plum, soft cherry, sweet strawberry, framboise, pretty; juicy plum and cherry, latent grip; called Produttori but was on the '09 Barbaresco.

  Dark, chocolaty core, dull garnet rim with sediment; soy, brown sugar, dirt, dried dark berry, charcoal, anise, liqueur, stewed fruit; richer palate, Bordeaux varietal-esque, dark cherry, currant; not on this one; very aged and just holding on.

  Black core with dull garnet rim; chemical nose, pine, kind of burnt fruit, dark berry, dark raspberry, prune; dark berry on the palate, black pepper, tart dark berry, bitter on finish, lower acid, seemingly uber-ripe vintage; not a fan.

  Good clarity, garnet core with ruby rim; raspberry, sour cherry, white pepper, new, a little reductive, strawberry; dried rose, cherry, Nebbiolo, a bit leaner and not as noble; nailed it.

  Dark core with bricking; vegetal, tertiary, mushroom, leather, deep, aged, good Bordeaux; soft, sexy, dark fruit, leather, clay, cigar; tasty; called older St. Estephe.

  Deep yellow green; tidal pool, lemon zest, chalky; sweet citrus on the palate, floral, slight honey and apple, richer; very good.

  Bright yellow green; lemon, sea water, talcum powder, floral, zest of lemon almost lime, chives, beautiful nose; nice texture, lemon, bitter tea, fresh, talcum filled finish; delicious and encouraging for quality level in 2012 vintage.

  Italy, Veneto, Soave Classico

  Deep yellow with green hues; richer than I'm use to for Soave- malo? lees?, smells waxy, lanolin; very aromatic and effusive on the palate, bitter almond, green apple, slight lemon, creamier mouthfeel; good but I prefer the simpler crisper versions.

Ok, I understand the Calon-Segur didn't conform to the theme, but who is going to fault someone for bringing a wine like that?
