France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru
Nicely floral with ripe apple and pear aromas and flavors. Charming and persistent, but slightly lacking of Chevalier density and power for me, perhaps at 90-91 point level. I had this shortly after it was opened, and others who tried it again later in the evening said it improved with more air.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru
From magnum brought directly from the domaine. Lots of black berry aromas and flavors with a forward, slightly jammy character. Starting to mature early, best in the next 5 years. Don't think I've ever this wine before in any vintage.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru
Lots of fresh black fruit, seemingly younger than 20 yo, with lots of crunchy, ferrous character and textures. Only downside is the firm structure has barely started to soften. This is still on the front nine, but it's tough to tell when and where this will really peak.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Musigny Grand Cru
From magnum. Cross-section of cherry aromas and flavors, forward and very accessible with good textures, even if slightly light on energy. Starting to mature, this is drinking well now.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Musigny Grand Cru
Lush and forward black fruit that comes across very ripe to start, but saline and spice elements emerge nicely on palate, then some elongating structure helps provide backbone, length and nuance.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Musigny Grand Cru
Popped and poured. Lovely and charming old Burgundy with lots of mushroom and forest floor and faint remnants of red cherry. Easy to enjoy, even if it didn't wow us tonight.
Popped and poured. This was old and tired on the nose to start, with more redeeming savory mushroom character on the palate, but nothing to seek out at this stage in its life.
France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Châteauneuf-du-Pape
Very ripe plum, blackberry on nose and palate with a rich, meaty and unctuous character. Very good power. Not quite as nuanced or balanced as I recall from last time tried a couple of years ago.
This is a real head turner. comes across as a very elegant and well textured Bordeaux with lots of nuance. Lots of red cherry with some dark chocolate hints. Very long and powerful with very harmonious tannins. Wonderful tonight with decades of life going forward.
Black berry, black pepper, roasted meat aromas and flavors. Some ripe fruit elements with a hint of blood sausage. Moderate density and length, with overall good balance. Still drinking very nicely.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru
Mature cross-section of red berries with some earthy hints and very robust Chinese five spice elements. Good place now without much more upside from here.
Popped and poured, I wish I could revisit this wine over many hours, but only had ~30 minutes, during which it kept improving and expanding. Unmistakably Piedmont with roses and licorice. Lets of mature, ripe red cherry with an advanced mushroom character. I'd probably have thought older than 1990 if served blind. Gripping finish.

Some thought it just seriously reduced, but others, myself included, thought it slightly corked.

Not necessarily a consensus view, but this also seemed slightly corked. If not, then it was very tired.
