France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Savigny-lès-Beaune
Sous bois and strawberry on the nose with a faintly woody/musty nose. Positive attack but the fruit falls away in the middle quite quickly. A little austere on the finish. Some debate as to whether this is slightly corky. If representative, **1/2 mainly for the interest in the nose.
Pale. Earthy, slightly muddy on the nose. Fresher on the palate. Quite light but fragrant and floaty. There's a hint of rot or similar still coming through. Not creaking but certainly time to drink up. Bare ***
Suffered from not being served quite as cool as previous bottles of this. Strawberry again, though a tough more confiture than the Jadot. Light, fun and inconsequential. Needs a bit more chilling. ***1/2
Quite restrained on the nose. Focused. Almost linear. Strawberry fruit. Bright wild strawberry on the attack. Nicely structured. Lots of restraint but an underlying intensity. Proper Beaune. ****
Bright, lovely strawberry fruit. Plenty of oomph. Mid weight, plush fruit. Decent structure. It's all here. Another that would have tuned up a bit if served cooler. ***(*)
Quite a savoury, almost meaty nose with dark red fruit. Very dense and quite tight still, as expected. Quite chewy. Lots here. Come back in five years or so. **(*1/2)

Ripe and semi exotic on the nose. Apple, custard apple and something fresher and zingier too. Lots of texture and grip on the palate. Far larger framed than the nose suggests. Oodles of extract. Chewy. This is really quite impressive. ***1/2
