The Traklin - new location
Tasted Thursday, April 2, 2015 by Yagil with 434 views
It's took some time to accumulate enough 1990 Bordeaux bottles to start a series of tasting events of 1990 Bordeaux "25 years after"
We were 12 for the first meeting:
Nurit & Asher (Prof.)
Gavriela & David (MD)
Michal & Arie (MD Prof.)
Mati (MD)
Igal (MD Prof.)
Maurice (MD)
Haim (Ph.D)
Yair
myself
TheTraklin's private room is a very convenient location, with good food.
The wines were great: no wine was flawed; one was on the verge of being oxidised
Some surprised me in their quality, mainly for good.
Within 2-3 months we'll have the 2nd round
1990 Château Figeac 92 Points
France, Bordeaux, Libournais, St. Émilion Grand Cru
double decanting for sediments removal 2 hours prior to drinking
light red colour with brownish rim
wonderful tertiary leather-earthy aroma of a slightly oxidised wine
soft tannins, good acidity level, medium bodied, complex, fine flavours, lingering finish with very long nose….

1990 Château Lagrange (St. Julien) 91 Points
France, Bordeaux, Médoc, St. Julien
double decanting for sediments removal 2 hours prior to drinking
leaking cork under the capsule only, no drops out of the capsule
light red-brown colour
surprisingly no oxidation signes on the nose & palate, soft tertiary aromas of earthy-leather, medium bodied, soft tannins, good acidity level, lacks complexity, still enjoyable on the palate on its own, pleasant lingering finish.
