    Tasted blind. Pop and poured.
Appearance is clear, pale intensity, lemon colour. Legs.

On the palate, dry, medium+ acidity, medium alcohol, medium- body. Medium- flavour intensity, with flavours of lemon peel, honeysuckle, honeyed fruit. Medium finish.
Quite a difficult guess, I was thinking of a Muscat actually.
Good quality Garganega. Drink fresh. Paired well with the sashimi.

Very good quality. Balanced with nice minerality and nice touch of oak which has almost integrated samlessly in. Drinking well, and will do so for another 3 years.

  • 2012 Bürgerspital zum hl. Geist Veitshöchheimer Spätburgunder Trocken 90 Points

    Germany, Franken

    Pop and poured. From Bocksbeutel.
Appearance is clear, pale intensity, ruby colour. Legs.
Nose is clean, medium intensity, with aromas of salty minerality, raspberry, strawberry, red cherries, and lightly toasted oak. Youthful.
On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium alcohol, low tannins, medium body. Medium flavour intensity, with flavours of salty minerality, strawberry, raspberry, and red cherries. Medium+ finish.
Good quality German Pinot from Franken. Fruit a bit on the thin side, but the minerality rescued the wine. Drinking well. Drink over the next 3-4 years but probably not one for long aging to develop complexity.
Interestingly, on Day 2, the fruit put on a bit more weight and sweetness.

Good quality. Not heavy-going due to the balanced sweetness. Seems to be only semi-Botrytised. Can drink now, and suitable for further ageing.
