Flight 1 (2 Notes)

  • 2013 Kavaklıdere Narince Prestige 89 Points

    Turkey, Central Anatolia, Cappadocia

A substantial wine, 14% ABV, fermented and aged in French barriques for nine months on the fine lees. Ripe fruit, citrus and white flowers, creamy palate but not too soft, well-integrated oak, styled like a richer white Burgundy. Very good.

  • 2009 d'Arenberg The Laughing Magpie Shiraz-Viognier 88 Points

Australia, South Australia, Fleurieu, McLaren Vale

Rich Shiraz fruit, nice hint of floral fragrance, silky and glossy, hints of black pepper and vanilla, becomes ever more funky and barnyardy as it sits in the glass.
