Lots of ripe stone fruit on nose and palate with very good density and concentration. Exceptional for Villages level, with both the good fruit I associate with the best 2006s, but structural quality I would never expect at this level in this vintage.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru
Started slightly musty on nose, which blew off after 10-15 minutes. Lots of earth, leather and roast meat aromas. Similar flavor profile with good power. Held up surprisingly well for an hour+ in glass.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru
Popped-and-poured. Started somewhat reticent with lots of earth, leather, meaty spice and smoked meat. More fruit emerged on both nose and palate with more time in glass, showing red and black cherry after 30-45 minutes open. Best taste was the last.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru
Open and decanted perhaps 30 minutes before serving. i don't have a lot of experience with Serafin's Cazetiers, but this was a real treat. Lots of braised meat and spice aromas with some leather notes. Power and good density with very good length and balance. If served blind, I would have thought this from a younger and easier vintage than 1993.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru
This had been open and mostly/ partly consumed through the day, then we visited this towards the end of the evening. Lots of black cherry and some some berry with a meaty character and background cooked meat spice. Good fruit throughout and very well textured. Just starting to show its potential.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru
A peculiar wine. Open and decanted an hour+ before serving. This came across as very Vosne-like in terms of good spice, but with ultra-ripe black fruit, while also showing an oddly olive background note. This certainly didn't provide much pleasure tonight, but our group really couldn't agree on its longer-term potential, with my perspective being skeptical. Honestly, if served blind, several of us would have thought this from the Rhone. My first time trying this (1st) vintage of Christiane. I've adored subsequent vintages the few times I've been able to try them.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Bonnes Mares Grand Cru
I am often perplexed by Groffier's wines, given the degree of variability and bottle variation. This was a great bottle, showing lots of ripe red fruit and great dried herb notes. Tannins, acid, fruit are all in excellent harmony right now. Long and persistent.
2004 Arnaud Ente Meursault La Seve du Clos Plus Vieilles Vignes Flawed
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Meursault
Past its peak. But I realize I have not stored these last few bottles well over the past two years, so don't know if this would be representative.

2001 Maison Champy Corton-Charlemagne
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru
Still drinking nicely with lots of mature apple and earthy, woodsy spice notes. Good now, probably better 2 or 3 years ago.

2002 Jean-Philippe Fichet Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Referts Flawed
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru
Seems less than pristine, even though I know this was a well stored bottle.
