Introduction

First time at Bo'teca.

Flight 1 - As a starter (1 Note)

Flight 2 - Fresh luke warm trout with elder sauce (1 Note)

Perfect combination of meal and wine!

  • 2014 Weingut Ökonomierat Rebholz Birkweiler Kastanienbusch Riesling 86 Points

    Germany, Pfalz

Not quite sure if it is the right wine Designation: It was the 2014 dry estate Riesling from Kastanienbusch.
Interesting and intense nose of fresh herbs (balm etc.), elder and citrus fruit. Dry with some sugar tail, good acidity, lacks a bit of complexity on the mid palate and has a medium finish. Went perfectly with the trout and gained a lot in this combination.

Flight 3 - Carnaroli Risotto with scallops, bacon and young peas (1 Note)

Delicious Risotto in a very unusal combination

Flight 4 - Fried veal (1 Note)

Perfect meat, excellent Sauce. Wine could have been more elegant for the meat.

    Schott Zwiesel Bordeaux Glass
    Served out of Magnum
Clear, medium+ ruby Color. Typical german Pinot nose with some fleshly notes, blood, few fruit. Dry, medium acidity, medium alcohol, medium Body and intensity. At first quite gruff and harsh which transforms to more elegance after some minutes in the Glass. Drinkable now, but will benefit from 2-4 more years in the bottle, especially when served from a Magnum bottle.

Flight 5 - Almond cake with rhubarbs and rhubarbs-butter ice cream (1 Note)

  • 2011 Weingut Ökonomierat Rebholz Trockenbeerenauslese 'Zeit & Geduld' 90 Points

    Terrible dry Sherry glass
I am not sure about the vintage but it must be 2011. A TBA in Sauternes style: fermented in barriques of german oak (produced in France) with 12% alc. It is a cuvee and Mr. Rebholz did not reveal the Grape varieties in there but a certain part must be Riesling. Interesting wine but I do not like this fat, broad style of wine anymore.

Closing

Food was very good, will definitively come back :) Inetersting, tiny little Restaurant with very friendly staff. It was almost like in mothers kitchen. Cosy and friendly.
The wines? Well, no epiphany but solid and good wines on a high Level.
