Old label, so had a good amount of time in bottle. Golden coloured. Toast and honey, lemon curd and spice. Fresh acid still lines the palate, there is a just light touch of bitterness that indicates the age but it is a minor issue for me. Good length.
Soapy florals, spice, lemon and apple. Good focus and balance between moderate weight fruit and acidity. Hasn't budged since the last time I tried it (though that was from 750ml).
Pineapple, mint, gooseberry and a lemon kick. Really lovely fruit purity and a mineral core that persists and persists. Superb flavour profile and enjoyment from this.
Honey, musk, lees type character and orange peel. Palate is clean and quite mild mannered, it has good length. Shown up a little by the Cotat that it was next to.
Chalk, slate, blood orange and saline notes. The palate shows that salinity as well, along with some fuller bodied fruit. Nicely done, but obviously very young.
Mango, grapefruit, bananna and oak. Palate shows the oaks as well, with that same rich fruit coming over the top. In a bit of an awkward stage I thought and should be better in a couple of years out of Magnum.
Talc, some strawberry bubblegum and apple. The palate is decent in most respects, it will improve over the shorter term but probably always be just okay.
Stem, strawberry, iron and blood with a light floral overtone. Tight palate, the fruit is rather restrained, with nice acidity. A good showing despite how young it is.
Mint, eucalyptus, beetroot and spice. Can taste some alcohol warmth along with that minty fruit. Okay length. Apparently the other bottle was much better.

VA heavy, sesame, blackcurrant, charcoal and dark florals. Medium bodied with good length behind it. Well balanced, but not nearly as good as a bottle 2 years ago.
Australia, South Australia, Limestone Coast, Coonawarra
Violet, earth, undergrowth and pepper. Nicely resolved palate, still has freshness and the structural components are integrated but still giving it a frame. Drink now.
Australia, South Australia, Limestone Coast, Coonawarra
VA, earth, graphite and redcurrant. The acidity feels a step out of pace with the fruit on the bottle, the flavour is still bright and enjoyable, it just isn't quite what it could be.
Some meaty blood, blackcurrant, spice, smoke and iron. Earthy and savoury palate, I really like the way the tannins and acid work with that savoury fruit to give it interest. Good length. Very good!
Australia, South Australia, Fleurieu, McLaren Vale
Ribena, spice, floral and redcurrant aromas. The fruit is bold but I'm impressed by the acidity, it gives it surprising freshness and keeps the wine from feeling too full-throttle. Rather liked this!
Very reductive - show some pear and apple - I came back to it after an hour or so and it was still heavy on the sulphur. The palate is nicer, shows a fair dose of sweet fruit and also has medium length. Definitely needs some time in the bottle.
Australia, South Australia, Barossa, Barossa Valley
Briar, char, chocolate and blackcurrant. Tannins are fairly heavy and it throws the balance of the palate off a little, but there is some good red fruit flavour present and it carries well.
Citrus peel, ginger and brown sugar, caramel and pear. The palate is in surprisingly good condition with good acidity and plenty of caramelised fruit. Drink now.
