We were invited to share the weekend with several new and old friends from around the world to taste 40 yr old Tawny's on Saturday and conclude with this tasting of 1960 VIntage Ports or older on Sunday afternoon on a deck over looking the Lake. Incredible finish to an incredible weekend.
Missing from cellartracker notes was the 1926 C de la Silva, 92 pts, burnt orange color, spice, good finish, nice palate, a bit thin on the finish, orange peel. What a great start to the afternoon with side by side 1948 Taylor (Grp favorite for the afternoon) and Fonseca.
'55 Taylor was voted second best of the afternoon tasting.

1948 Fonseca Porto Vintage 97 Points

Bright red color, strong nose, soft on palate, core fruit, dense, so smooth, caramel, bright Rose color over time, hot cinnamon. Good showing. While the group preferred the '48 Taylor, I gave this a slight edge.
