This is a house favorite. It's like a chainsaw for cutting through seafood dishes with butter or sauce. Light yellow color. Medium plus weight especially for a white. Nose has some grassy herbal note. Big zippy granny smith apple and sour grapefruit. Loads of acid, leaves the mouth watering for a good 15 seconds afterwards. Typically served very cold which exposes the acidity even more. Very complex.
Yellow color with faint green hue around the glass depending on the angle. Light floral note with shades of lemon and lime. As it warmed up a pear flavor took front and center. Was not a big acid wine but still very clean and delicate. Very long finish.
This is yummy. Dark maroon color. Shows a touch if brett as barnyard, just enough to be interesting. Cherry and leather notes, fruit forward, medium plus concentration. Lots of fine tannins means it's seems youthful at this age. Probably cellar beautifully.
Nose wasn't giving up much to me other than a baking spice thing going on. Another juicy wine of dark berries and a light cherry flavor. Medium acid. Delicious.
Served blind to a group of friends. Wow, this landed with a thud. Nose has a little zin fruit poking through the sweet and heat. Very juicy mouthfeel with dark plum and red fruit. Seems light on the acid and syrup feel at the end, there's no cleanliness to the wine. Probably over run by the oak/vanilla. As someone noted "this seems manipulated" and my first impression was there are wines that taste like this for much less money. Fully disclosure: I have lots of geyserville in the cellar and typically like them very much. Time to go back and revisit older vintages.
Very nice. The color looks just like the glass in the label image, bright ruby. There's a little old world aromas coming out of the glass. Palate is a cherry and pepper with red fruit. Reserved and well balanced. Everyone guessed this to be Grenache and I would have too if I had not brought the bottle.
