All bottles were tasted fully blind. Only knowing that it was Burgundy 2005 and there were no pirates.
Really beautiful and complex bouquet with dark berries, chocolate, licorice, some smoke, green herbs and some ok celery. On the palate red and dark forest fruits, herbs and spices, earth, a touch of bell pepper, a bit chalky/stony, good acidity and still sticky tannin. I really loved the bouquet, but on the palate the wine is still a bit locked and too young. Probably wise to wait until e.g. 2018. 90+ for tonight.

Beautiful bouquet with dark berries, licorice, herbs, smoke and a touch of celery. On the palate red berries, some dark berries as well, chocolate, herbs, a firm amount of minerals and acidity. The tannin is still slightly sticky. A little more full bodied than the "Aux Cras" and still a good future ahead. (2018+?) For the moment I score the wines the same; 90+.

The color still has a purple hue! Beautiful bouquet with red and dark forest fruits, some smoke, rustic flavors and a touch of celery. On the palate dark and red berries as well, salty licorice, a touch of bell pepper, minerals and white pepper. Beautiful acidity and soft, still sticky tannin. Red fruit acidity in the finish. Wait a few more years. Good length. 90 - 91 for tonight

The color is much more evolved than Clos des Argilieres and slightly garnet red. The bouquet is subtle and slightly evolved with still some red fruits, green herbs and rustic flavors. On the palate red and dark forest fruits, sweet spices, minerals, some earthy flavors, toasted oak, beautifully round acidity and soft tannin with still a pleasant bite. Overall a meaty wine with a good length and probably the one which is the most ready of the 2005 1er crus I tasted tonight. Ready now and it will continue to evolve pleasantly in the next 2 - 3+ years. 90 - 91 for tonight, but with less future than the other wines in this tasting.

Beautiful bouquet with red fruits, some metal/minerals, spiciness and barnyard smells at first, but they disappear after a while. On the palate red fruits, impressions of metal, sweet licorice, some chocolate, flint stone, beautifully integrated oak, round and good acidity and soft tannin. Good length. Overall a really beautiful wine in its (early) maturity stage now. 91+ for tonight.

The bouquet is not so very expressive and shows some red fruits and butter milk. On the palate red fruits, soft and round, some sweet spices like cinnamon, good acidity and soft, round tannin. Overall a beautiful wine which still is a bit too young, but I don't want to pinpoint the best drinking moment.

Tasting this bottle, the previous one from last January definitely was an off bottle…. Beautiful and deep bouquet with dark forest fruits, some strawberries, sweet spices, smoke, earth and well integrated oak. On the palate red as well as dark forest fruits, cherries, herbs, a lot of sweet spices and sweet licorice as well as minerals. A touch of pleasant sweetness and good acidity. Soft tannin with a pleasant bite. Overall a full bodied and complex wine of ripe fruits that develops in the glass. Really a beauty which is in its maturity stage now and will be great to drink over the next 3 - 4+ years. 92+ for tonight.

In the beautiful bouquet cigar and sweet spices dominate the most. On the palate red berries and cherries, a lot of sweet spices, chocolate, hazel nut, earth, minerals, a touch of pleasant sweetness, good and firm acidity and soft, round still sticky tannin. A very well structured, beautiful and complex wine. Intense. Develops in the glass and still a good future ahead.

Beautiful bouquet with red and dark forest fruits, minerals, cigar and a pleasant touch of barnyard. On the palate creamy red berry fruits, minerals, a pleasant touch of sweetness beautifully balanced by good fresh acidity and soft and round tannin with still a good bite. Enormous length. Beautiful wine, mature now and a good future for at least another 3 years. 92 – 93.

Concentrated bouquet with a lot of dark forest fruits, tobacco, smoke and a pleasant bit of barnyard. On the palate concentrated fruits as well, herbs and spices, oaky flavors, firm acidity and tannin. Beautiful wine in its early maturity stage. Will improve with some more years of cellaring. 2019+ 92+ for tonight.

In the bouquet red berries, herbs, earth, some toast, sweet tobacco and a touch of barnyard. On the palate red fruits, herbs and spices, minerals, good acidity and still youthful tannin. Beautiful wine. Early maturity now, but it will probably improve with some more ageing. Around 2020+?
