This event focused on the great 2010 vintage across France. Wines were generally from Bordeaux, Burgundy, or the Rhone. The goal was to get to as many of the wines as possible and keep the pours small and the notes short.
The whites showed extremely well and many of the reds did as well despite their youth.
NV R. & L. Legras Champagne Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs Brut 91 Points
France, Champagne, Champagne Grand Cru
Light gold color. Drank 1 glass over 20 minutes. This was quite good tonight. There's a nice yeastiness with depth and some wieght, nice mix of fruit with pear, citrus and lychee, hints of white flowers and clean minerality.

France, Burgundy, Chablis, Chablis 1er Cru
Pale gold color. Very good. Tightly coiled at this point, mineral driven with tart citrus fruits, light body. This could use a bit more time compared to some of the '10 Chablis I've had. 90+(+)pts.

2010 Domaine Billaud-Simon Chablis Grand Cru Vaudésir 92 Points
France, Burgundy, Chablis, Chablis Grand Cru
Light gold color. Drank 1 glass over 30 minutes. This was showing very well, excellent intensity and depth to the fruit and minerality, nice lime and lemon fruit on the nose and palate, quite crisp and fresh, long finish. This is already in a good spot. I agree with Chablis28 this probably will kick it up a notch though with a couple years.

Very dark red color. Drank 1 glass over 30 minutes. This was splendid, showing so well already, a wonderful core of sweet red fruit, cherry, ripe, elegant and silky texture, cinnamon, firm but silky tannins. One of my top reds of the night. I can only imagine where this will be in 5+ years.

2010 Domaine de Chevalier 94 Points
France, Bordeaux, Graves, Pessac-Léognan
Very dark purple/red color. Small pour. It was a treat to get a couple sips of this tonight. The last time I had it was at the Chateau from barrel with Remy. I was captivated then, and I don't feel any different now. There is so much purity here with amazing fruit, sweet firm tannins, tar, cedar and wow power. It probably was better than where I thought it would be right now. 94(+)pts.

Just taste here too. A wine that I find to be a great QPR year in and year out. As you would expect, '10 is no exception. Forward fruit, cassis, blackberry and good balance. The tannins are manageable now and this should be better in 3 years.
