Pale green yellow color. Lovely green apple nose with hints of spice. Tight white citrus fruit with spice on the finish. Almost sauvignon black like in its acidity - zero sweetness. Very young.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru
Very pale yellow white color. big bright ripe white fruit nose with some tight spiciness. Big tight mouthful of oaky white fruit. Long acidic finish. Of course, drinking quite young. 92-93 pts.
Bright red/pink color. Beautiful nose of sweet cherry pie with some serious spice notes. Still tight black cherry fruit with persistent tannin. Will be great with time - typical young Leroy.
France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Châteauneuf-du-Pape
Full soft purple color. Tight spicy nose of briar black and red fruit. Spicy red fruit on the palate, but still very young and difficult to really evaluate.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru
Pale yellow/green color. Forward smoky nose of yellow fruit and toasty oak. big rich sweet yello wfruit with clear oakiness carrying through to the palate. Very young, but good stuffing for the future.
Full soft opaque purple color. Slightly hot reductive overripe nose of blackberry. Big bold concentrated blackcurrant fruit on the palate with firm persistent tannins. This is obviously a concentrated well made wine, but I don't personally like the style that much - seems like Guigal is trying to make a new world syrah in Hermitage. I see very little resemblance in style to his great Cote Roties that let the old world terroir shine through. Although I think this wine is quite young and is like to come together and improve with time, I will personally be short this one.
Soft red/purple color. birght ripe purple fruit nose with scare a hint of the telltale PLL green... Lovely lithe forward ripe sweet fruit with hints of chocolate on the palate. 93-94pts.
