A lovely tasting hosted by Thierry Brouhin and the Fine Wine Experience Team in Hong Kong.

There are only 150 cases on average produced of the Clos du Cailleret per year.

• 2013 Domaine des Lambrays Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Clos du Cailleret 90 Points

  France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru

  Light butter, honey and white flowers. Smooth balanced palate with a light touch.

  Light perfume with a short length. Slightly astringent.

They own 95.8% of Clos des Lambrays. The best quote from Thierry was about the previous owners and the '78 vintage. When tasting this wine he noticed a lot
of iron taste in the wine and enquired what could have caused this. They replied that half way through the production of the wine they went hunting and forgot
to take the press off the wine.

  Nose of red cherries, dark fruit, pepper, blueberry and spice. Rich deep and long. A lovely last vintage for Thierry in independent hands.

  As Thierry said "Drink this with lunch not dinner". Slightly closed with less depth and lighter on the palate.

  Slightly closed on the nose but an amazing palate and depth. Great balance. This will develop beautifully.

• 1948 Heritiers Cosson Clos des Lambrays

  France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Clos des Lambrays Grand Cru

  I cannot score this wine as I do not have enough reference points to mark it against. It was a pleasure to try this wine which was wedged between the '47 and '49 vintages but still stands on its own two feet. Nose of musk, leather, earth and dark fruit. Gentle, clean palate. Amazing.

The WOTN for me was the '48. A privilege to try such a beautifully kept wine that is still alive and bright.
