brief tasting note. nose of ripe blue fruits (blueberry). full bodied, med. acid, med- finish. 90% merlot, 10% cabernet sauvignon in this vintage; one of the highlights of the vintage in red.

very brief tasting note. nose of black fruits (dark plum). strong in most vintages i've tasted, this wine had good concentration. predominantly merlot, with cabernet sauvignon and petit verdot filling out the blend.

brief tasting note. nose was easily the most expressive of all the reds tasted today, with black and blue fruits in spades; flavors of the same. med acid, and less tannic than might be expected. the vintage featured a higher percentage of cabernet than usual (82%).

brief tasting note. cabernet nose is more evident here, with a slightly green/vegetal note. this was dense and will need some time to open up. a good effort for the vintage; my notes say "bruiser".

brief tasting note. very expressive nose of coffee/espresso. just a touch vegetal, likely owing to the large portion of cabernet sauvignon in the blend. flavors of the same, and also some graphite. med- finish. a good effort in the vintage.

brief tasting note. sweeter than the other 2 offerings tasting, the concentration here was very good. lots of tropical fruit and high acidity.

brief tasting note. nose was explosive with honey, tropical fruits (lychee/mango). palate was very well-rounded and perfectly balanced and included flavors of the same with racy acidity. wonderful concentration. the personal highlight for sauternes/barsac in this vintage.

brief tasting note. sitting somewhere in between guiraud and suduiraut in many aspects, this was a very enjoyable effort with a very long life ahead. very expressive nose included vanilla, some nuttiness, with flavors of the same.

brief tasting note. a rounder mouthfeel with a bit more texture similar to the chevalier, the use of oak is more evident here. good acidity, offering citrus flavors with just a touch of nuttiness (almond in particular).

brief tasting note. nose is full of stone fruit, especially nectarine, and fresh white flowers. full bodied, med- acid, med length. great mouthfeel here, one of the top whites tastes in this vintage.
