• 2009 Viña Tarapacá Carménère 83 Points

  Chile, Maipo Valley

  Ripe cherries, plums, raspberries and a bit herbal in the bouquet. Sweet start and mostly cherries on the palate. Medium bodied and very soft. Crowd pleaser.

  Bouquet with black fruits and laurel. Sweet start. A lot of easy acidity and bitterness. Cherries and blackberries.

  Pleasant bouquet with some vanilla, cherries, herbs and menthol. A lot of sweetness and very primary cherry fruits. Soft tannin, firm acidity. Not bad, but one dimensional.

  Pleasant bouquet with vanilla and soft fruits. Medium ripe forest fruits, some paprika and smoky impressions. Ok acidity and bitterness. Already showing development. Drink within the next 2 years.

  Chile, Curico Valley, Lontué Valley, Sagrada Familia

  Perfumed bouquet with flowers, cherries and plums. Clove is the first impression in the mouth, followed by juicy cassis and raspberries. Ok tannin and acidity. Medium long finish.

• 2005 Casa Silva Carménère Microterroir Los Lingues 89 Points

  Chile, Rapel Valley, Colchagua Valley

  The bouquet is not very expressive, but there is some black fruit and elegant oak. On the palate soft and ripe juice with a pleasant dose of good oak, eucalyptus and white pepper. Good complexity. The tannin is soft. Ready now and a future of another few years.

  The scent of fireworks in the bouquet as well as cassis, licorice and leather. Pleasant on the palate with a good balance between sweetness and acidity.

  Chile, Maipo Valley

  Fairly deep bouquet with pleasant ripe forest fruits and elegant oak. A little toasted in the start with some white pepper, cherries and medium ripe blackberries. Good concentration and bitterness.

  A little bit alcoholic in the bouquet as well as in the finish. Also in the bouquet and on the palate sweet ripe and juicy cherry fruits. Good bitterness and some lactic impressions.

  Pleasant and friendly bouquet, not very expressive. Sweet start. Cherries and acidity as in medium ripe blackberries. Tannin from American oak. Ok wine, but not great.

  Brown biscuit spices in the bouquet as well as good cherries and ripe raspberries and vanilla from the oak. On the palate soft ripe forest fruits, coffee, mocha and some paprika. Soft tannin and good acidity and bitterness. A lot of everything. Still needs a few years of ageing. 90 for now, but it might gain a few points over the next 3 - 5 years.

  Primary cherry juice. Same on the palate. Very easy, one dimensional wine. More like lemonade. Drinks very easy. Party wine.
