Introduction

Oddball Blend wine tasting. We had 24 people, divided into three tables of 8. Each group had 5 wines, which were wrapped in paper bags. All the wines were opened at least 45 minutes before serving, although since they also had measured pour nozzles, I don't think they got a chance to breathe much. The wines in order of tasting were: 2013 Micheal David Winery Petite Petit (for 2 tables) and the 2013 Cara Nord Conca deBarbera Negre (for 1 table), the 2010 Obsidian Ridge Half Mile Proprietary Red, the 2005 (and for 1 table the 2006) Shafer Relentless, the 2009 Dehlinger Petite Sirah/Zinfandel Guadagni Brothers, and the 2013 Jax Vineyards Y3 Taureau.

Flight 1 (7 Notes)

Closing

By vote, the WOTN was the 2010 Obsidian Ridge Half Mile Proprietary Red, although it also had the most "dislike" votes. It was very polarizing. The 2nd favorite wine was the Jax Y3.
