  Sweet and a bit unpleasant bouquet with strawberries and nutty flavors. On the palate the same. Dried fruits. Rust. Some acidity. Very special and not really nice. This is a blind note of a wine tasting. And this is no wine. So no score.

• 2005 Kurt Angerer Riesling Donatus 88 Points

  Special and hard to give an overall opinion. In the bouquet a mature wine with some petrol. On the palate mature as well, also still some tropical fruits, a lot of acidity, good minerals and a great length, but nevertheless not really great overall. 87-88 seems to be correct.

  In the bouquet dry honey, cold tea, nougat, apricots, mixed dried fruits and some oxidized impressions. On the palate apricots, butter candy, tangerine and orange. Ok acidity. Mature and special. I did not score the wine.

• 1945 Laligant-Chameroy Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Pucelles

  WOW!!!! THIS IS SPECIAL!!! Dried fruits, currants, apricots and honey in the bouquet. On the palate apricots and other ripe yellow tropical fruits, butter candy, caramel, coffee and butterscotch. Amazingly fresh and pleasant. Every score between 92 an 97 can be correct, so I don’t score the wine. But what and amazing effort! A white of this age and still beautiful.

  Beautiful bouquet with red and dark forest fruits, cherries, a bit lactic, but also iodine, licorice and herbs and spices. On the palate full bodied good cherries and blackberries, juicy and good acidity in a nice balance with some sweetness, spiciness and iodine again, well integrated oak and slightly drying tannin. Really nice wine. Fully mature now, but no real hurry.

  Beautiful bouquet with ripe red berry fruits. On the palate a beautiful mature and complex wine. Plums, cinnamon, cedar, some bell pepper, pleasant acidity and powdery tannin. The wine has a great length. Fully mature now, but on the other hand it will not fall completely apart over the next year. No reason to wait any longer though.

  Blood red. Beautiful bouquet with luxurious oak, cedar, sweet spices like cinnamon, smoke, dark forest fruits and spiciness. On the palate red and dark berry fruits, coffee, cocoa, tobacco, oak, beautiful acidity which can balance the sweetness and silky soft tannin with still a good bite. A fully mature wine and no real hurry.

  Ripe and sweet fruits as well as beautiful oak in the bouquet. On the palate very ripe dark berry juice, some smoke, eucalyptus, beautiful oak, a lot of spiciness, good acidity and tannin. At its peak now, but it can last for a few years as well.

  Beautiful bouquet with dark fruits, sweet spices, smoke, luxurious oak and some rustic flavors. On the palate the wine disappoints a bit with tea, a lot of acidity, but also some dark fruits, chocolate, sweet spices and noticeable alcohol. Nevertheless a very good wine. Ready now and probably wise to drink it over the next two years.

  Beautiful mature bouquet with chocolate, coffee, mocha, cinnamon and other sweet spices. Same on the palate. Some red and dark berry fruits as well, good acidity, a touch of sweetness and soft tannin. Overall a beautiful and complex wine with a good length. Fully mature now. Drink over the next few years.

  Expressive bouquet with dark fruits, gunpowder, charcoal, stones and sweet spices. Same on the palate, impressive and concentrated with a lot of sweetness and also ok acidity. Round tannin. I had the impression there was also some sulfur. Nevertheless an impressive and concentrated wine. Fully mature now.

  In the bouquet caramel, coffee candy, sugar cane syrup and orange. On the palate butterscotch, honey and pineapple. A lot of sweetness nicely balanced by good acidity. Some bitterness in the finish. Beautiful wine with elegance as well.

  Enormously concentrated bouquet with orange peel, polishing wax, honey and peach. On the palate a lot of sweetness, good acidity, raisins and apple syrup. Good balance.
