Monthly Tasting Group HWS #091; Burgundy: Chablis with Oysters.

Introduction

Every participant had to bring a wine of the theme. We did not know which wines were brought by the others. All wines were tasted blind, also without knowing when the wine you brought was poured.

This time we invited an oyster specialist who opened six different types of oysters for us to taste beside the wines. Great event!

Flight 1 (2 Notes)

  • 2007 Regnard Chablis Grand Regnard 91 Points

    France, Burgundy, Chablis

Drank from magnum. Beautiful and rich bouquet with minerals and good citrus. On the palate nicely dry and focused with good citrus, minerals and pleasant bitterness. A beautiful Chablis.

  • 2013 Domaine Laroche Chablis La Jouchère 87 Points

    France, Burgundy, Chablis

The bouquet is expressive, bright/cheerful with flowers and pears. Same on the palate, some minerals and bitterness. Not the tight, focused and with tart citrus style of many Chablis wines, but an easy to like clean wine. Not really complex.
