#412043, disgorged Autumn 2012, 2005 base. Sesame, ginger, lime, green apple, pear and some honey. Good length, can taste the influence from a few years bottle age already. Good texture and balance.
Soapy violet florals, orange, iron and plenty of earth. Medium bodied fruit with good length and excellent structure. The earthiness of the nose follows through on the palate. Really liked the interest that this had.
Flint, lemon, mineral, herb and orange. The fruit has a fullness about it, but there is superb balance, length and poise. Extremely classy and full of potential, it is good now but will be a killer with time.
Meal, spice, mandarin and oyster shell. Beautifully pure on the palate, there is a line of spice and bright acidity. There is fruit there but it is restrained and has clear definition. Long and delicious.
Opens slowly aromatically but shows sesame, celery, honey and flint. Really good texture and the palate also lifts along with the nose as it gets some air - becoming brighter and more defined. The fruit remains full and this is excellent overall.
Blind. Herb, lemon meringue and lime. Clean palate, very lithe, there is good acidity and this drinks nicely now in its youth, though it should develop over 10 years.
Floral, sesame, grapefruit, lemon curd, musk and matchstick. Good texture on the palate, with the fruit leaning towards a richer style but the acidity providing good drive. Really nice now but could well be better in time.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Meursault 1er Cru
Gun-smoke, pear, lemon, mineral and spice. Structured and needs time but the fruit is nicely restrained and the mineral character from the nose shows through, along with the fruit having good depth to it. Think that this should be really excellent in time.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Clos des Lambrays Grand Cru
Beetroot, cherry and herbs. The palate is lithe and is well balanced, maybe without having that extra x-factor right now that would lift this into being stunning. Young and I like the style and potential.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru
Blind. Strawberry, char, spice and earth. The tannins are still prominent on the palate, there is a lovely soft sweetness to the fruit. Long and excellent, but just shown up tonight by the 2010 Clos de Bèze.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambertin-Clos de Bèze Grand Cru
Blind. Pepper, five spice, earth, some plum and black cherry. Finely detailed on the palate already, the red fruit has awesome texture and while it is bright and young, there is amazing depth. Will be incredible in time.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Clos Vougeot Grand Cru
Cherry, herb, smoke and blood. Really good tannin structure, with the fruit flowing well and the acidity playing a good supporting role. Plenty of time left to develop.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Clos Vougeot Grand Cru
Chocolate, ash, pepper and earth. Bright acidity, the fruit is quite delicate but it has depth and complexity to the flavour. Barely budged since I tried it 3 years ago, it is still excellent and should get even better.
Rhubarb, violet and blackcurrant. Feels more approachable than a previous bottle, with the ripe fruit and the tannins still asserting themselves, though maybe a bit more in balance this time. Another 10-15 years should do no harm.
France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Châteauneuf-du-Pape
Funk, chocolate, some red cherry and a little alcohol heat. The palate shows plenty of tannins with good texture and the fruit sweetness working well. Plenty of goodness to be found here.
France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Châteauneuf-du-Pape
Tar, spice and a little bit of ash. The tannins on the palate are quite forward, the fruit does cover them up a bit with its fullness but I can still pick them apart. Good and may well be at its peak in about 5 years.

Consistent with previous note, though served at the end of the night, the lack of sweetness was more obvious in that context.
