  • 2002 Krug Champagne Vintage Brut 97 Points

    France, Champagne

Incredibly fresh and intense but it is also very closed when it comes to the aromatics.
Piercing acidity and some bitterness and it really needs a lot of time to open up.
It is however still evident that this is a huge wine!! Just needs time.

  • 2013 Aubert Chardonnay Eastside Vineyard 97 Points

USA, California, Sonoma County, Russian River Valley

Very intense peach and pineapple fruit but also with a good minerality to balance the evident sweetness.
A touch of spices coming through but mostly freshly ground white pepper. Long and impressive aftertaste and overall a very good structure.

  • 2013 Peter Michael Chardonnay Belle Côte 97 Points

USA, California, Sonoma County, Knights Valley

Cool and smokey white peach flavors with a complex floral impression which really impressed me.
Long and cool refreshing aftertaste. Simply a beautiful wine.

  • 2006 Marcassin Chardonnay Marcassin Vineyard 94 Points

USA, California, Sonoma County, Sonoma Coast

Popcorn, butter and caramel dominate the flavors but also some alcohol seems a bit to prominent.
There is a good acidity and also some butterscotch. The impression is very dense and sweet and seem to almost be a little affected by Botrytis?
However, after the reveal, it was obvious that this wine was simply not decanted which was a bit flaw. It needs at least 1-2 hours in the decanter to really open up.

  • 2012 Kongsgaard Chardonnay The Judge 99 Points

    USA, California, Napa Valley

Powerful flavors of pineapple, coconut and a touch of oak.
The aftertaste is incredibly long and very spicy and packed with impressions like smoke, coffee and chocolate.
There is still an insane balance due to the acidity and minerality which makes it fresh and very easy to drink.
Impressively intense and just a huge wine.

  • 2008 Kongsgaard Chardonnay The Judge 97 Points

    USA, California, Napa Valley

Wild and intense flavors of buttered popcorn, pineapple and some oak influence.
There is a little sulfur coming through and also a touch of alcohol but some decanting should handle this.
Lovely acidity and minerality balances the wine nicely. Very impressive.

  • 2009 Marcassin Pinot Noir Marcassin Vineyard 93 Points

USA, California, Sonoma County, Sonoma Coast

Dense and flabby dark plum fruit. Some dirt and coffee and overall a bit off balance.
This bottle should clearly have been decanted which was a big mistake by the restaurant serving this blind.

  • 2007 Marcassin Pinot Noir Marcassin Vineyard 90 Points

USA, California, Sonoma County, Sonoma Coast

Very dense and heavy fruit that seems a little boiled. There is some VA but also coffee. Could be defective but with air it opens up.
This bottle should clearly have been decanted which was a big mistake by the restaurant serving this blind.
