All wines served blind from cp's private cellar
I think it is the first time I taste this - so no correct guess from me! There is a lightness of being here, butter, Burgundy, yes, but the elegance and airiness is what strikes me here. Love it.

While everyone was praising this, I found it just a wee bit tired and over the hill. Colour is turning towards orange, oxidation is evident IMHO.

Tight and exciting with gunpowder and minerals galore, very intense and creamy - and still very young. 95+ points

Young and quite light in comparison, but the fruit is great, there is citrus here, minerals galore, so young – and with a great future. 93+ points

Grand vin. Rich and broad, yet precise with minerals, honey and a classic creamy, bees wax texture. He wine is a point right now, one of the best showings of the tasting - no mean feat.

Soft, fat, tired and somewhat oxidized. Experts doomed this to be a defect bottle, I am not so sure, I have had many disappointing Lafons from this vintage …

Magnificent wine! Like an old Bollinger without the bubbles, coffee galore, old time grocery store, rich, broad, yet still precise - perfectly mature - and what a showing for 1993, one of many on the night. 97 point.

Loads of fresh fruit, citrus galore, fresh, elegant, mineral, en danseuse, no heat here – and the acidity is still there in the end.

Everyone (me included, alas!) was guessing pinot noir and Burgundy here, goes to show the elegance of the ’90 – and also the importance of psychology; everyone is looking at the host, thinking of his cellar, rather than tasting the wine. But this was great! Creamy, elegant, smooth, quite light, but yet will a full base of Grenache. In the Top 5 of the night for me – but hey, that’s me.

More rusticque, more of a peasant wine, speaks of the land …. Took a lot of bashing around the table. I was guessing Northern Rhône here, it is a darker, more restrained wine than its lesser sibling – and loosing out tonight. Maybe not quite correct, I am not sure

Light and lively, tight and vibrant, lively acidity – another very impressive showing from 1993.

Darker thanthe Rousseau Clos de bèze of the same year; more extraction, oak showing. Good, not great - as of now.

Vibrant, mineral nose, the wine is very tight and well kept together – the acidity is pronounced in the positive sense of the word

Richer, darker than the Ponsot, but still very vibrant and very much alive and kicking. The depth of the fruit is impressive …

Dry, elegant, aristocratic – and of, the richness and the juice playing underneath. Very young still. 94+ points.

Light fruit, dancing wine, very charming, hitting the pinot-nerve spot on, it is nerveux and fresh, very deep and goes on forever, although quickly disappears from the glass - may I have some more, please?. WOTN.

Fuller, richer, more fruity than the Haag – I actually guessed this to be a higher Oechsle wine than the Haag, causing all sorts of damnations from the host, what kind of fool am I? – the expressions is nevertheless rounder, sweeter and more gentle. But the precision is here, the minerality and the acidity – a beautiful wine.

A very different style than JJ, this is very Haag, cutting through everything. There is an intense fruit and a very precise acidity. Grand vin.

More manly, dry, even flinty, acidity is pronounced, but for 2001 (not my favorite vintage, I admit) this is great, the harmony is here, the balance … once again, I bow to, Count Liger-Belair

Sweet, elegant, creamy, yet light and dancing, this is very 2002, ready to go, pleasing in a caressing sort of way – I could drink a case of you - and still be on my feet...

This seems more or less gone – notes of coffee galore, quite oxidized and not really pleasant. Does not speak well of the heated vintage - but could of course be a bad bottle. NR

What a majestic wine, very tight, very young, but the concentration and the fruit is overwhelming, here is strawberries galore, the wine has nerve, intensity and loads of pinot charm. Maybe it is time to take a look of some 2005’s? 95+ point

Tight, nervous and dry, but the juice is here, certainly, this is a playful pinot – more is to come. 93+ point.

Somewhat dusty, mineral nose, a bit closed; texture is creamy, acidity is all over the place, needs time, this one. 91+ point.

Big wine, big fruit, pinot from the headquarters; quite mineral – and quite 2007, almost open for business, but will improve, I think

This is the prestigewine for sure, and initially I did find it a bit forced, but it settled in the glass and found an impression quite a bit darker the normal wine, a bit more oaky, but still pleasant to drink. Quite young

Tight, dense, turbo-pinot for consenting adults; oh dear, this goes on and on, very enjoyable infanticide, forgive me, for I have sinned.

Last bottle, chosen and presented by MP; toasted, marked by the oak, quite sweet, roasted. Not a fan at this moment. NR

1980 Moët & Chandon Champagne Cuvée Dom Pérignon Rosé 90 Points
France, Champagne
Quite fat and creamy, more than a few hints of peach, coffee and your old grocery store galore. Mousse is less than lively. Very nice - but drink up.

1996 Krug Champagne Vintage Brut 95 Points
France, Champagne
Extremely young and tight, the grandeur of the 96 is showing itself. Hazelnuts, butter, but citrus, first and foremost, and an excellent concentration and precision. I have had this several times, very nice showing here, years to go. 95+ point
