Introduction

Another great dinner organised by Wine n Things and Crown. Plenty of wine and a good selection from Meerlust

Flight 1 - On arrival and with curried pickled fish (1 Note)

This just didn't quite pick up as I was hoping. The fish was good though!

Flight 2 - Foi gras and beef tenderloin (2 Notes)

This all went very well together, best flight and food match.

Flight 3 - Lamb ragout (1 Note)

The Rubicon was the WOTN but was let down a little by an odd main course.

Flight 4 - Meringue tart (1 Note)

This was quickly left for more of the Rubicon

Closing

The Rubicon is a really good wine and great value. The Pinot was surprisingly good and the Merlot also gave a good account. There are better chardonnays from SA and the dessert wine just failed to impress. Hahns was excellent presenting his wines and wineries and another good night.
