  France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Meursault 1er Cru

  Pale white/green color. Lovely bright green mineral on the nose. Big oaky palate with green apple tarte tatin and just a hint of banana. Nice, but relatively simple. Could merit another point or two with some time.

• 2005 Domaine Roulot Meursault Les Meix Chavaux 93 Points

  France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Meursault

  Pale white green color. Big full briar tight white fruit on the nose with straw notes. Subtle rich white mineral fruit - steely, almost chablis like. Long citrus finish. This is a really nice classicly-styled low-oak white burg. Should only get better.

  Medium yellow color. Nice dusty mineral nose wit hhints of spicy oak. Lovely rich liquid mineral with great texture and a long spicy oak finish.

• 1996 Domaine des Comtes Lafon Meursault Désirée 93 Points

  France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Meursault

  Medium full yellow color. Big forward sweet yellow fruit with rich butterscotch notes. Huge rich yellow bitter round acidic honeyed caramel fruit with a note of lemon curd. Definitely showing it's age, but no sign of pre-mature oxidation here. At or just past its peak.

  France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Bonnes Mares Grand Cru

  Full ruby red color. Full spicy canned black cherry nose - clean and acidic. Lovely sweet tart black cherry on the palate. Surprisingly open and nice for a domain I'd never heard of. 93+ pts.

• 2005 Domaine Robert Groffier Bonnes Mares 90 Points

  France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Bonnes Mares Grand Cru

  Full red color. Forward dusty stinky early notes of wet socks - a singular and unusual aroma here. Better on the palate though the aroma characteristcs do show through. Black cherry and spice with beetroot notes and some tannins.

  Full red/purple. Medium spicy black cherry on the nose. Dusty black fruit wit hsome tannins on the palate. Rich and ripe, but typical young BM character.

• 1978 Domaine Grivelet Bonnes Mares Cuvée Princess Noura 94 Points

  France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Bonnes Mares Grand Cru

  Pale brick/crimson. Nice round very floral cherry nose. Lovely rich round sweet spicy black cherry on the palate. A great example of mature burgundy. It was best right from bottle and definitely fell off after 15 minutes or so in glass. 94+ pts.
