Attended with Micky.
Vibrant, fresh red cherry and strawberry fruit, slightly creamy, nicely sappy with decent concentration, ripe tannins and a good length finish. Excellent.

Elegant restrained, raspberry fruited, some mineral notes, slightly tannic on the finish, enjoyable if not quite as dense or intense as I expected.

Much more developed than the 2002, slightly minerally, very earthy. Fruitier on the palate with attractive fresh raspberry fruit, light but pleasing across the mid-palate, slightly tannic on the moderate length finish.

Much more pungent and intesne on the nose. Complex with raspberry fruit, minerals, creaminess, breadth and density across the mid-palate, very good length balanced finish. An excellent 2000.

Very developed, earthy nose, with a distinct streak of greeness. Some nice mature, gamey flavours but a little dilute on the palate and very tannic on the finish - not a great 98.

Game, raspberries, minerals - hint of farmyard. Spicy, sweet and singing on the palate, elegant with integrated tannins and a good length fresh finish. Excellent.

Wow, a lot of oak here, very noticeable after the Barthods. Some nice, ripe dark-toned fruit is poking out underneath, with decent fresh acidity. Quite a lot of oak tannin on the finish. May come round with time? 83?+

Again dark toned fruit but the oak more integrated this time. Greater depth and more polished tannins, attractive acidity. Very good.

Some game evident here and the fruit is purer and much more towards the red end of the register. However, perhaps lacks a little intensity on the palate and is slightly tannic on the finish.

Slightly smoky, gamey nose, some oak but again less evident here. Quite good depth, and richness across the mid-palate, good length finish. Very good, prefer this to the 2002.

Lovely, complex masculine Burgundy nose - plenty of game, meat and spice. Noticeably more fruity on the palate, spicy and rich with a slightly tannic finish. Excellent.

From magnum. A little recalcitrant, dark, irony, earthy. Still tight with a closed, tannic finish. Difficult to read, this needs a lot more time.

Very oaky, a little dilute with it, although redeemed partially by attractive crisp acidity. Not for me.

2005 Pierre Morey Meursault 84 Points

Slightly richer and broader than the Puligny, attractive creamy mid-palate but falls away on the finish. Good.

2004 Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey Meursault 1er Cru Charmes 90 Points
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Meursault 1er Cru
Complex, intense nose, quite a lot of oak just now but enough floral, slightly nutty intensity to suggest this will resolve over time. Complex, intense and powerful on the palate with a very long finish. Excellent potential. 90+

Still quite floral, but noticebaly richer with apple coming through on the palate. More oak too. Preferred the tauter, leaner more classic 2002.
