Good, interesting palate of raspberries, spice and plums. Medium bodied, somewhat 'grenache'-like. Got better with air, but the finish started to get a bit acidic.

Very nice meaty syrah. Ripe plums, figs and spice.

Way over the top for me. Interesting to taste but overripe, lots of prunes and quite a bit of heat. Don't know what to do with this wine.

Dark, chocolatey, plummy. Ripe but not overdone. Lots of black fruits on the lingering finish. Lasted well into the next day.

Chocolate cover cherries. Ripe and fleshy.

Complex, dark, brambly fruit. Dense but not overdone. Thick and rich, yet good structure and some minerality. Gorgeous mouthfeel and length.

Ripe and sweet. A bit of eucalyptus and herbs. A bit sharp on the finish. Enjoyable but a bit too sweet 'grenache'-like for me.

Closed nose. Wonderful mouthfeel. A nervy edge to it on the finish and calls for more cellar time. Lots of promise.

Inky, tarry and meaty. Nice, but probably needs time.

Explosive spiced cherries on the nose. Wondeful complexity on the palate, and a silky acid profile that surprises given the nervy acids of 2001, in general. Seems almost weightless, yet authoritative. Great wine in the making.

Medium to light bodied. A bit syrupy and sharp.

Surprisingly opulent. Huge body, some sulpher, good acids. Let this sleep.

This was a bit hard to taste right now given it's unformed youthful stage. Lots of coconut, creme, honey. Just needs lots of time to integrate and surely get better.

Shows lots of promise, but in a bad state right now. Good precision and quite lean right now -- the sulphur elements are getting in the way of full enjoyment.

This is ridiculously young right now. Huge and unformed, but this will be great. This cannot be an Auslese, as it has the weight and feel of a beerenauslese. Thick, juicy and monolithic right now.

Racy, structured and focused. Seemed a bit too dry, but wonderful with food. Good future ahead.
