Great, as always. Packed with fruit and herbs. Complex, wonderful finish. A remarkably balanced wine. Only got a small taste, so it was difficult to evaluate in detail.

Wow! A perfectly mature caberent, perhaps at its peak. lead pencil, licorice, earth, with some sweet fruit still in the mix. Superb showing.

WOW! Essence of cassis, licorice, herbs, and earth. Super complexity that boggles the mind and a finish that never seems to end. Wonderful balance. The complexity in this wine is other-world-ly as I found myself unable to describe all the scents and tastes I was bombarded with. This is even more extraordinay given that the circumstances of the taste was not ideal (a crowded pre-auction tasting).

Extremely mute nose. Perhaps this wine needed time to open up. I only had a small taste, but it obviously had good extraction. Tons of berries, minerals, and earth. Nice complexity, wonderful balance and a lengthy finish. The aromatics were the only dissapointment.

Great concentration. Crystallized fruit. Very good extraction, yet not heavy in the least. Wonderful oak treatment (ie, hardly noticeable). Nice earthy notes underscores the complexity. Wonderful.

Big nose of sweet oak and ripe cassis. Good concentration, but perhaps a bit soft (needs more acids?). Thick and chocolately.

Light in color and extract, yet elegant and aromatic. A nice, spicy Pinot, but I would like more concentration.

Poured from a large format bottle. Wonderful fruit. Sweet and expansive on the palate. Great finish. No heavy oak or dill that I would expect from A Silver Oak Alexander Valley wine. Excellent.

Big, dark, brooding, spicy wine. Crystallized fruit, so pure in expression. Long finish.

Big, spicy, zinny. A bit alcoholic, but very nice. Long finish. Good concentration.

BIG, raspberry syrup of a wine. Some residual sugar. Unusual wine, but interesting.

Super intense "essense" of berries and spice on the nose. Purried cassis on the palate, great extract, yet not heavy. Tannic, but surprisingly accessable due to the silky nature of the tannins. A blockbuster wine.

Tough to evaluate given the hectic, crowded surroundings of a pre-auction tasting, but obviously a superb wine. Very concentrated fruit aromas. Complex, even at this young stage. Nice minerally, earthy finish. Superb.

What I expect from great Bordeaux. Cedar, lead pencil, and cassis on the nose. Earth, leather and berries on the palate. Great, complex wine with a wonderful finish. Seems to be drinking extraordinarily well right now.

Funky nose. A bit thin and watery. Still relatively tannic, but the fruit seems to be drying up. Not a good showing.

BIG nose of cassis, herbs, leather and interesting funky scents (in a good way). Nice minerally finish, but I couldn't help noticing a bit of heat on the nose and palate.

Tough environment to taste this wine in (a crowded pre-auction tasting), but I couldn't help feeling dissapointed in this wine. Some interesting spice on the palate, but overall a very thin, weak wine. Perhaps this wine is in a dumb phase? Perhaps poor storage conditions?

Nice, light, elegant pinot. Spicy, funky nose. Toasted cherry on the palate with a nice earthy finish.

Typical aged Chateauneuf aromas. Spicy, earthy, some animal fur (due to the Mouvedre?). Good weight and medium finish.

Big overripe port-like nose. Raisens, prunes, and plums on the plate. Interesting, massive wine. Very young tasting wine, given its age.

Still a light yellow color. Lightly sweet with no signs of age. Light on its feet with brisk acidity. Long finish, but perhaps could use a bit more complexity. Perhaps this was a low botrytis year?

BIG, buttery nose. Thick, heavy wine of immense proportions. Perhaps a bit too heavy for it's own good? Spice, oak (and lots of it), flowers, and a killer finish. An amazing wine that perhaps is better to taste than to drink (could it be too lumbering over more than a glass?). An interesting wine.
