Guess this is a Kosher wine. Not impressed. Basic red fruit. One dimensional.
Wine seriously lacked compared to all others at the tasting.

Totally Old World in style, both Jill and I thought this was fantastic -- especially for about forty bucks.

  • 2003 Château La Mission Haut-Brion 93 Points

    France, Bordeaux, Graves, Pessac-Léognan

Binny's South Loop October Bordeaux Wine Tasting.
This wine's overall character was different from the other's - especially those on the ticket table.
This wine's color was more of a deep ruby than the more opaque others.
The wine showed lighter berries with very intriguing spice.
Lighter in style but still awesome depth and complexity.
The finish went on and on for at least 45 seconds though it was as elegant a Bordeaux as I've ever sampled.

  • 2003 Château Mouton Rothschild 96 Points

    France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Pauillac

Binny's South Loop October Bordeaux Wine Tasting.
Absolutely mind blowing. I completely understand the hype.
Tasting this was a truly memorable experience.
The focus and structure. Depth and complexity. So much going on.
Dark berries, chocolate, earth, dirt. Coffee, dark purple flowers.
The viscosity of the wine is somewhat sappy. The nose is absolutely flying out of the glass.
The finish lasted for almost a minute. This is the best French wine I've had to date.
    I am in love. Speechless.

  • 2003 Château d'Yquem 96 Points

    France, Bordeaux, Sauternais, Sauternes

Binny's South Loop October Bordeaux Wine Tasting.
The best white wine I have ever tasted. Absolutely mind blowing.
So much concentration with such length. I was speechless.
Lush rich and viscous in the glass. Almost molasses like but lighter in color.
Aromas leaping out of the glass. Lemon zest. Insanely bright lemon zest everywhere. Fresh grass, blue cheese and petrol.
So much SUN in this wine. It drinks like liquid gold. Such balance. Maple syrup notes on the nose and palate.
75 second finish. I'm sold. I don't see how it can get better than D 'Yquem in terms of Sauternes...possibly dessert wines all together.
