Last year we did all Oregon and as many had bought Vicar's from NZ, those places were absent.

Ruby red. Barnyard on the nose that blew off. Definitely Old world. Balanced w/ a decent finish. Overall the group's 5th place.

Ruby red. Floral nose. Balanced w/ baking spices. mid-weight. Has the stuffing to last a few more years. My favorite and overall the group's also.

Ruby red. Nose had to be coaxed but then red current and spice came thru. Balanced but light bodied. Drink now. Fourth place overall w/ the group.

Ruby red. Smoke and tobacco on the nose (no one liked it but I thought it was tolerable). Soft tannins and balanced. Decent finish. Perhaps the bottle was "flawed" in some way - will have to see next week at 2nd seating.

Ruby red. Pomegranate and cranberry on the nose (bright red fruit). Balanced but tart. Dick thought it had some bitterness. Drink now. Overall the group's #3

Ruby red. Spicy raspberry on the nose. Balanced but a hint of bitterness. Nice finish. Overall the group's 2nd favorite.
