Today was all about exploring wines with food.
My first champagne. I liked it, but I need to explore this category much more over the next few years.
I love the aromatic whites, and this was no exception. Served with dim sum.
Served with bean soup. Not a huge fan of this wine.
I'm not a huge sherry fan.
The Grenache was quite good. I would buy it.
Very good, aged well. I enjoyed both.
My favorite category. I normally love sauternes, but this sauternes was sub-par. I've been told never to buy second wines from a vineyard in that region, and now I understand why. The Canadian icewine was superb.
Quite a good port, not too tannic. But I'm not a huge port fan.
NV Taittinger Champagne Brut Réserve / La Française
France, Champagne
Light golden color with very slow bubbles. Nose is very yeasty. Structure has good bubbles, probably medium bodied. Flavor had some melon. Good and refreshing, although I think I would have liked more fruits.
