France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Romanée St. Vivant Grand Cru
Vosne spice is more intense than the '93, this wine has more power and tannin, and a touch more complexity. Interestingly, the group was split between 93 and 98 -- they are of similar quality, different in style.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru
Massive wine that should not be opened for another decade. Abundant flowers and minerality, but the wine trips over itself in its youthful awkward state. This certainly has the material to become a classic someday.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Echezeaux Grand Cru
The superb vintage couldn't overcome the vineyard, and this wine paled compared to the rest of the wines. On its own, this probably would have been quite enjoyable. It's a classic Vosne wine hitting the same notes as the big boys, just falls a bit flat by comparison.
