Well it has happened at last. We have passed 10 million recorded bottles within CellarTracker. It took a bit less than 1.5 years for us to get from 5 million to 10 million.

Wow.  That's a fantastic stat.  What's the actual size of the database these days?

Congratulations Eric! Good reason to open another Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande 1982 I suppose…

3 years from now it will probably be 25 million.

What I wonder: Can you give an overview per country or per continent? Not for the wines, but for the location of the people who entered those bottles. That would be nice to follow!

Cheers,
Bill.

Sorry, Eric, but US Government stole your thunder this week.

How much do you wanna bet that the national Debt ceiling will be doubles from 10 trillions to 20 trillions faster than you double your bottles count?

Hip Hip Hooray -- although not new to Cellar Tracker I'm new to the forums and ramping up my commitment to CT all around.  This has to be the best thing that's happened for wine drinkers since I don't know what !

CONGRATULATIONS not only to Eric (especially to Eric) but to everyone who actively contributes to making this the unique and valuable resource it has become for the wine drinking world...

/ Mark

Eric, what's your position on bottles of Budweiser, Miller Lite and even olive oil that are in the db? Just leave them there, or report to you?

Congrats to the whole CT crowd! I bet there is a whole bunch of interesting metrics that Eric could run on the database.

I know it looks goofy, but there are restaurants using this program and this is how they/we do inventory. This way, we make sure to have stuff in stock when you guys come in and order it.

All the best.

Congrats Eric!

I think you have created the wine world's equivalent to MySpace or Facebook, and the most addicting thing since the Crackberry...I mean Blackberry.

Thanks for all the hard work, and thanks to all who contribute to the site for making it such a great resource.

Amazing statistics really -- as of a few moments ago,

60,796 users
with
10,026,126 bottles and
668,558 wine reviews to boot !

Imagine the average daily inventory additions on a 3 year graph...  It just feels like we're in at the start of something which might possibly last our lifetimes.  Hopefully it just gets better (!)

Sorry I haven't responded. I am so swamped and not so good about forum time--and I didn't get notified about the replies--my own bad.

I don't have a good segmentation of the bottles by market, but the traffic is more than 80% in North America.

Well, that does somewhat explain the preponderence of Californian wines in the top ratings. Meanwhile, I'm spreading the word in my little corner of the world.
