Mine were 2 whites:

1) American version of Rkatsiteli - superb! and greatly exceeded my expectations

2) Spanish Rueda - gives Sauvignon Blanc run for the money. (if you like cat pee and that sort of things)

What were yours?

I just finished '07 Monte Velho white blend from Portugal. The varieties are Roupeiro, Antao Vaz and Perrum. The aroma had stones and lime with a hint of muscat in the background. It was dry and slightly oily on the palate. Good, cheap wine and a nice surprise.

I discovered Gruner Veltliner this year and I love it. The problem is we don't have much selection here in PA.

Won't that go nicely at Siam?  If I can go, Serge, I will have 2 bottles in tow.

I hope you can make it! Don't bring much, their wine list is worth worshiping to.

Oh, that's right!  Would still make a nice apertif as we discuss the way of life in The Republic of Georgia.
