My better halves, the 2005 Domaine du Vieux Telegraphe and the 2001 Doisy-Vedrines don't seem to mind my time on CT Forums all that much...What's that honey?... Oh, I though halve was the same as a split...Yes, I'm on that board again, I'll be off in a few...I know I spend too much time on there...yes, I know you wanted to talk about...

I have to go Wrighty, I'll try to answer you tomorrow when the wife isn't around...

I have CT open all day when I am at work just so I can pop in and out as the mood takes me.

I check it very little at the weekend.   Every time I do look at the site at home my wife tells me I am a sad geek.

I usually have time in the evenings to pop in here or on WS's forums, and when you work weird hours you find yourself awake at 5:00 am like I am today.  Wine forums are just my replacement for TV, only with a little more interaction, unless I'm watching football.

Like Paul I open it when I'm doing other PC related stuff - you know Hearts, Spider Solitaire and other such mind stimulating stuff.
Oh and when I'd buying/researching wine - which is quite often.

I do the same, I leave the windows open and pop in a few times during the day.  On the weekend it depends on my plans.

Same here too.  Looks like a lot of us are lucky to have jobs with the amount of time we spend on here at work.

I think it's more of an affliction than an addiction.  Meaning, the addiciton to wine causes the affliction from the forums!

Same here.  I need those "mental" breaks every now and again while I work, and this is an easy place to get it.

Paul, my response to that kind of grief from the wife is always..."Well you married me, so how sad does that make you?"

I sleep on the couch a lot...

I work from home (don't even have an office to go to if I wanted to), so have no one looking over my shoulder.  As long as my work gets done and I'm available by phone during business hours, my boss doesn't really care if I'm shuffling paperwork at midnight or noon.

My wife likes the geekness and the knowledge of wine that comes with it. She has had the opportunity to meet both CTers and eBoBers at offline events and she much prefers the CT crowd.  Seattle was fun.  Let's do it again next year.

The fates of people. I try (rather unsuccessfully) to keep off CT during working hours, although nobody is watching over me, but being a scientist, I do need to concentrate. However, lately concentration is not number one on my list as I'm going through a divorce. CT is great place to come to when I want get my mind off of reality and enjoy the company of fun people. I do it in real life as well, of course, but can't be with friends all the time. Anyway, I'm not here to get sympathy, but to have fun! And tomorrow will be the ultimate expression of geekiness, a Skype conference on tasting wines...

PS Wine is not the reason for the divorce (phew), but rather one reason to not have a divorce. Not a strong enough reason I guess. C'est la vie.

Niklas...  been there myself about 4 or 5 years ago.  I don't know your own circumstances but for myself I came out of it with a way better mindset.

Rob,  meeting you two at the CT event revealed that your mindset isn't the only thing that turned out better!

I also work from home. I'm a graphic designer, and can have CellarTracker! on at any time.

Try to limit visiting every couple of days, as I'm on a couple other Forums.

Jeez, what a sad life. Maybe I need some wine…

I tend to leave it open during the day and “check in”.  Compared to some of the other nerdy stuff I do, this is nothing.  You have to set the bar low.  Also, as mentioned by others, my better half enjoys the benefits.
