Can anyone help a couple of relative wine newbies?  We bought 4 bottles of this wine based on a recommendation, and can't find any info on it.  Even the producer (I assume it is Lorieri) doesn't show up anywhere.

Maestro is the man for Italian wines. Hopefully he'll look at this thread. You may have to PM him.

I suspect you will have to add a new wine.  I have never done so, but you can click the link to create an entirely new wine.  When you do add the wine you should add it as a new purchase.  Let us know where you bought it.  Hope you enjoythe wine.

I've put in quite a few new wines as I often visit the Languedoc region in France and go to little wineries that are not widely available. It takes a bit of practice to get the right names in the right fields (Producer, Designation, Vineyard, etc), but once you figure out which are the important names on the label, no problems! The most important thing is to check that there aren't other wines by the same Producer already in the db, it is the best way to avoid duplications. Eventually the database will be complete...

RobbnAmy,

The producer is Lorieri
The name of the farm is Scurtarola
The grape Vermentino Nero
The Appellation Toscana IGT

The way I do it:
First I find another wine from Toscana IGT
Then on the left I select from the heading "From this Producer" Create new wine.
Then I select "add new vintage or wine based on this" from the wine with the correct Appellation. Toscana IGT in this case.

Now you get a data screen where you can enter all the data.
First the vintage.
As a grape the Vermentino
Then, in Italy, you could have a discussion what to put on which place.
I would say Lorieri as the producer.
And Scurtarola as the vineyard.

I was on my way to enter the wine in this way for you, but I did not.
It is a good training for you to do it yourself.
And possibly other people would like to give their comments on the place where I want to put Lorieri and Scurtarola.

Cheers,
Bill.

I have put in new ones as well, but this one escapes me.  Hoping someone can tell me what to put, and where :)

Here's where it was purchased....

Thanks so much for the help everyone :)  I have input a few on my own, but the labels have always been in English :)
