*On this day in 1917, Arab forces rebelled against the Ottoman Empire and captured the port of Al 'Aqabah with the help of British adventurer T. E. Lawrence, known as Lawrence of Arabia.

Which wine did you drink to celebrate the takeover of port Al'Aqabah? Any tasting notes?

And most people thought it was Peter O'Toole.
Glad you noticed the special date.
I should really say just a few dates and water, but in all honesty it was my old faithful Norton Privada, together with the remnants of my The Coppermine Road 2004.
Glad to say I disliked the Shiraz less than when first opened, but find the Privada hard to beat, especially at the price (here that is).
No formal notes, an outdoor barbecue at 40 degrees C, pretty much in the dark (well candles) isn't conducive to proper tasting.
Really feel it should have been something Spanish, so I could simultaneously celebrate a historic Wimbledon (Rafa has the backbone of a Lawrence).
