So just figured I'd get something new going on the boards.

Everyone knows it's not what's in the bottle, it's how good a label the wine has that is the key, right?

Ok, maybe for some, but I will admit there are some labels that I just really like and I think anytime you put one of these on the table you are bound to start conversation amongst the initiated or uninitiated alike. So what are your favorite labels and why?

Here are a few of mine (Wasn't sure how to get to just the image)...

Cayuse Bionic Frog - Just a really fun label, lots going on here with the color

Glaetzer AMON-Ra - Stark B/W symbology, love this one

Herb Lamb EII Red Wine - Anyone who has ever owned a dog can appreciate this one...

Teach a computer idiot how to link to the label like you did?

If you are looking to just imbed any web link, type your text, highlight it, and then click the link button above this window to open a pop-up that allows you to paste in the link to the site you want to go to. There are also ways to paste the photo's in, but I'm not that versed in that.

These are some of my favorites:
Mutt Lynch wines are all dog themed, and some are rather clever.  Decent wine, too!

I love the label for Blackbird Contrarian because it reminds me of the cover of my favorite album.

I also love the Bully Hill labels.  Wine's not so good, but the labels are entertaining.

Favourite or not, these ones are hilarious (originally brought up by Serge in some long forgotten posting):

The dog that appears on all their labels helped to save the winemaker's life when he struck his head on a rock while surfing.  The story's details are fascinating, and the Dover people are great, and the labels are all cute and everything, so we always have an empty Dover bottle sitting out somewhere in our living room.

Techically does this count as a "label" since it carved on the bottle?

Kenwood intended to start its premium Artist Series collection in 1975 with the tasteful reclining nude by David Lance Goines, affectionately known at the winery as the 'Naked Lady' label. But it was not to be. The US Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (BATF) claimed it was obscene and indecent, and only 50 cases with the label slipped through to get to market. As a protest the label was resubmitted with a reclining skeleton instead. But the BATF forbade this also. In 1997, the 'Naked Lady' was resubmitted to the BATF, and, well, times have changed.... twenty years after its original submission, the label was approved. What better way to celebrate the 20th Anniverary of one of the world’s most renowned collections of wine!

Or you could go for Ralph Steadman, famous for illustrating Fear & Loathing In Las Vegas & other Hunter Thompson works.

The label of this Cotes du Rhone is thoughtfully embossed with Braille. Chapoutier was the worlds first winery to introduce Braille labels in 1997, and now their entire range is so labelled, some two million bottles every year.

"The Dogs Bollocks" is cockney slang for something special or really good, and is the house label of Eastenders, a booze hypermarket in Calais. Calais is some 25 miles over the channel from England, connected by frequent ferries and the channel tunnel. Tax on wine in France barely exists, while tax on wine in England can double the cost of a cheap wine. Cockney Dave West opened Eastenders warehouse to cater for the hundreds of Brits who cross the channel to load their vehicles with cheap booze.

Besides it's not supposed to be understood your side of the pond.
