Just got back from a superb holiday in Corsica and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the wine we found there.

Just thought I would post my thoughts here just in case anyone is thinking of heading over there at some point.

I was expecting some rather rustic,  full bodied, chunky wines but instead found wines that were charming, well made and in some cases elegant.

One of the vineyards that was recommended to us was an organic vineyard called Granajolo.  We tried three of their wines.
For 12 euros their red Cuvee Monika - earthy, full bodied, some plum notes, low tannins.  Good.
For 12 euros their flagship white (can't remember the name) - rich, golden colour, like a new world oaked chardonnay.  Probably a bit too much wood and 'manufactured' for my liking.
For 7 euros a Verminto based wine - zesty, fruity, excellent QPR.

There is a ubiqutious wine in a Cubibox called Vin Figari which for 7 euros for 3 litres is actually very drinkable - light, earthy and good fruit.  When it is 35 degrees this is a good wine to drink.

There were a couple of wines from the Ajaccio region (cannot remember the names) that were almost Burgundy like - light, reminded me of some Gamay based wines - probably best served a little chilled.

On our last day we had a bottle of white called (i think) Colombo.  It had won a number of medals at numerous French wine awards - 14 euros for half a bottle in a restaurant - sensational with fish - golden, slightly honeyed, elegant, smooth.

There were lots of other wines we drank although I am afraid I cannot remember their names.  Corsican wines are hard to find even on mainland France so I doubt they are widely available elsewhere, although if you ever get the chance to try some I do recommend them.
