First post here for me.

I received a Riesling which I'm not finding via the Search of the CellarTracker! site.

Before I make a new entry, I wanted to see if anyone else here had heard of it.

As much information as is on the label:

Weingut Heinrich Weiler
Mittelrhein
2006er
Loreley Riesling
Trocken
Qualitätswein B.A.
A.P.Nr. 190723401306
Product of Germany

Any help is appreciated!

cheers!
Dr. W

The fact that there are no wines at all under "Heinrich Weiler" means that you probably have something new.  Of course adding that odd German wine label data is always tricky.

Yes, I've added a new wine before, but know that duplicates are the bain of CellarTracker & I wanted to see if anyone else had seen this particular wine.

I believe it was brought over by a neighbor who was recently in Germany, so perhaps not one imported to the US. We had a wine event at our house last Friday, and had quite a parade of wines come in.

Many of which ended up in me.

cheers!

I think that German labels are the most informative on the Earth!

Weingut Heinrich Weiler - producer
Mittelrhein - Region
2006er - Vintage
Loreley Trocken ( or Trocken "Loreley") - Designation and in this case means that tihis is dry wine
Riesling - Varietal
Qualitätswein B.A. - means that this is cheap wine
A.P.Nr. 190723401306 - AP number
Product of Germany - country

They are great if you know how to read them.

The AP and "Qualitätswein" stuff is a little weird.   I just don't drink enough German wine to really get into them.

Technically QbA means "Qualitätswein bestimmter Anbaugebiet "quality wine from a specified region".  They can be chaptalized (a big difference between QbA wines and QmP wines) and while it is true they are generally inexpensive, they must come from one of Germany's 13 designated quality growing regions, and are often quite tasty.

The QbA wine will never carry the categories Kabinett, Spatlese, Auslese, etc. because those categories must have natural sugars at harvest.

When in doubt, I send the label to Eric and let him enter the wine.

This was a great surprise for me, that German language is so hard for English-speaking people.
Actually it should be opposite because English an German languages are in the same West Germanic languages group. For me (my language is in Baltic languages group) both English and German languages seem quite similar and equally easy for reading and speaking.
It would be very interesting what are your (English, Italian, Finnish, Spanish, etc.) subjective impressions about German language.

P.S. I almost fell from chair hearing Wine Spectator video about German wine labels.

Two years of H.S. German and I recall two phrases:

Um deine nase, mit einem gummi schlauch! - translation... Up your nose with a rubber hose
Wir gehen zu den Bierstube, komst do mit? - translation... We're going to the bar, are you coming?

Ah, another fine public education squandered on inane taunts and drunkenness...maybe I'll run for public office someday...

We may be an international wine forum but the general vibe of the above phrase is universal across most cultures.  I will memorise it for the next time I meet some German chicks in London.

If you need it in French ...... In (my bad) French : Nous allons au bar - tu viens avec nous?

That is how i picked up my wife.......

Well, at least I gave you the translation to the other phrase you may hear in response...

Good luck with that Paul!

GintsO: Wonderful as well as informative breakdown of the German label. Many thanks.

Sorry it took me so long to get back here. Busy with work & out of the studio all weekend.

I did get a good photo of the label, and will post it on the site with the entry.

Thanks to everyone for their help.
