Including imports pre 78AD, prognosis on the state of Bordeaux 500 years from now, and a place for Serge to pontificate.

CL, are you having a bad week with oil falling $16?

Repeat after Ralph Kramdon:
"Pins and needles, needles and pins, the happy man is the man who grins"

...the new Bordeaux will taste like CA Cabs, CA cabs will taste like Zins, Zins will taste like Port.   The million dollar questions for me are--who will be the new Bordeaux, and what will the new Port taste like?

This is what I have said about the future of Bordeaux esp in the face of global warming...

Ha, Ha, Serge, don't contradict my prejudices and pseudoscience with fact--you're likely to burst my bubble

Actually, the Middle Ages experienced a relatively warm period--the last time viniferous vines were seriously attempted in southern England.

I might need a partner one day to help me sell vineyards in the "New and upcoming Bordeaux region", as I see Southren Greenland becoming any day now
:)

I'll bet Greenland has nutrient poor, gravelly soils to promote drainage--potentially perfect for viniferous vines.  And the real estate will be less expensive than buying a plot in NAPA.  I think you're on to something.

Keeping with the request of the thread Creator,

We watched Antonia's Line yesterday tonight....this Dutch movie won the Academy Award, Best Foreign Film in 1995. If you like beautiful epics, you'll love this movie.
There is something for everyone, even "strong sexual content...some violence, including two rapes, incest, girl-girl action, a murder, a suicide by hanging, Schopenhauer and Nietzsche quotes, madness, howling at the full moon, house of "fallen pregnant women" and sex between retards......and not a drop of Bordeaux wine!!!!!!!!!
But curiously, this isn't what the story is about.
