If you can get invited to this (LONDON 10th November) it's a must.
Sadly I will be eating dates and drinking Saudi Champagne - not really, but I won't be in the UK ;(

Farr Vintners' Christmas Tasting 2008

We are delighted to invite you to attend the Farr Vintners' Christmas Tasting 2008

Featuring an impressive selection of more than 60 fine wines including

2005 Bordeaux, White Burgundies, top quality Rhônes and Champagnes

The following prestigious properties have kindly agreed to attend

and will be proudly introducing several of their wines:

Cos d'Estournel

Domaine de Chevalier

Les Forts de Latour

Pichon Baron

Suduiraut

Château de Beaucastel

Dom Perignon

Krug

Concluding with some spectacular, old Vin Doux Naturels from the 1930s, 50s and 60s

Monday 10th November 2008

Vintners' Hall, Upper Thames Street, EC4V 3BG

The tasting will be divided into two sessions:

Session One: 4:00 - 6:00pm

Session Two: 6:15 - 8:00pm

To book your place, indicating your preferred session,

please reply by no later than 17th October to: islay@farrvintners.com

Please bear in mind that in the past the later session has been oversubscribed.

If you are able to attend the earlier session then please do so.

Bookings will be confirmed by email. This is a non-transferable invitation.

We reserve the right to refuse entry.

Yes there is a brew "affectionately" called Saudi Champagne.
Essentially sparling fruit juice - I'd have to score it somewhat under 70 points.
It's probably similarly good at cleaning jewelry as Coke.
