Last Friday and Saturday was the auction of part of the Fox cellar in Chicago. There is both a catalogue and final prices posted on their web site: www.hdhwine.com. The prices do not reflect the added buyer premium of 20%. Amazing what some guys collect.

Several years ago bought 2 btls of '90 Sandrone Cannubi Boschis from them, both badly corked. I called to tell them, not really asking for a refund but more to get them to check on provenance ... they did not even want to talk with me. Haven't bought from them since.
You only get one chance to make a first impression!

Sales prevention at it's finest. Sorry to hear. I was dazzled by the size and depth of "part" of the Fox cellar that went on the block. The pictures in the catalogue of the various mountains of wine from individual domains was some of the best wine-porn I've ever seen.
