Mr. Lombardi, if you're going to wax a moniker with your pooch in the gloss, might I suggest you grace us with a pic of your Vinny?  I love that "Wine Dogs" book
Maybe we need a whole thread to show off our CT K-9's

"The Prophet, peace be upon him, told us of a prostitute who earned Allah's forgiveness for showing mercy to a dog. She had found it panting and swallowing up dirt out of severe thirst, so she went down to a well and filled her sock (shoe) with water and gave it to the dog to drink. Allah was grateful to this woman and rewarded her with Paradise. (This is narrated in Sahih Bukhari)."

In praise of dogs:
- Pet owners have lower blood pressure
- Pet owners have lower blood cholesterol levels
- Pet owners have a higher survival rate after serious illness
- Pet owners have fewer doctors' visits
- Pet ownership reduces loneliness
- Pet ownership fights depression
- Pet ownership helps us cope with stress
- Pet ownership aids childhood development
- Pet owners enhance family life
- Pets don't drink your wine

Alright I added the last one, but it's normally true.

L.

At least someone picked up on it so that's all that matters.

He was great in "Lock, stock, and two smoking barrels" which coincidentally has been running on a few cable channels lately.

How fortunes can change.  One of these characters started [working] life as a bricklayer's hod carrier and worked his way through the non-league football to reach the top English football (soccer) league, winning the FA Cup.  The other was the most gifted footballer of his generation, albeit with a crushed manhood!

Now the latter has been sectioned to a pyschiatric hospital and the latter a [minor] Hollywood star. However his view of wine might be somewhat out of kilter with the rest of us.  Quoted from The Hemel Hempstead Gazette

"Putting his wild man years behind him, Vinnie says he has now grown up.When I turned 40 three years ago I made a conscious decision to change," he said. "I knew wine and champagne were poisoning my body, so I gave them up. Now I have only the occasional beer and I do not look for trouble. It's made a huge difference."

Really?

Whoever you quoted with the "lower blood pressure" item obviously didn't own German Shepherds

Wrighty,

I'm an English football fan (Arsenal) but being a Yank do not adequately know my football history.  Who are those 2 gentlemen?  I recognize the first one from perhaps a Guy Ritchie movie.
