I think I feel a fraction of Eric's pain.  I'm new to CellarTracker, but I hate how people incorrectly add wine or list wine.  It isn't that hard- I can't believe how hard it is to figure out the producer or name of the wine.  Example: I have a T-vines Primitivo that is the Psychedelic Rooster reserve label- it is a T-vines wine people!!!  I hate all the double listing when I want to read reviews.  Sorry to rant.

Hello to all as well- I look forward to read all your tasting notes.

Also give Zin's and Paso Robles wines more of a chance.  Sorry, I'm from the area and a huge fan and they open my eyes to the wine world.

I dun't no about the others, but I'm stoopid and have troubel adding wineses.

Seriously.  I think people try to enter things correctly, but they're obviously not all as talented as you.  Give them a break.  We'll try to be kind to Paso Robles wine.

Oh... and welcome to cellartracker

Having been duly chastised by Eric for trying to create a new SQN wine, I stand in shame.  I will say however, that some producers use far too many names on any given bottle and it is difficult to decide which one to pick when some are duplicated.  Also, on some wines, especially from the Old World, you need a magnifying glass to find the name of the producer and if all information is in a language you don't read or understand, just figuring out which words represent the producer's name can be challenging as well.

While I won't cop to be stoooopid.  I will cop to be old and sight challenged making the job all that more difficult.

Sorry, I was adding wines and noticed the problems of multiple listings.  And I will agree that it is very tough to add foreign wines- especially from France and Italy.  To be honest I go to various wine retailers websites to figure out the French wines, being new at first I thought Bandol was a producer and not a region when looking up my Tempier from Bandol.  But, if you are not sure- don't add incorrectly go to winex.com or hitimewine.net to figure out what you have.  I just think people try to get fancy or over think (or over list) the US wines.  A lot can be figured out by turning the bottle around- in finding the producer.
Again, sorry if I offended anyone.

I certainly wasn't offended; merely trying to explain some of the issues.  I always have the bottle at hand when I enter it but still struggle from time to time.  SQN is a particular problem and Eric has established an excellent "cheat sheet" for Krankl's wines but still I find myself questioning if I have found the right wine.  I do agree that we want zero duplicates if that were achievable.  But again, it isn't quite as easy as your original post suggested.  If I had a barcode reader, then it would probably get much easier but I haven't coughed up the dough for that yet.

In short, I agree in principle and I will do my part.

The possibility of error is great, given the number of wines, and styles of naming (some seeming deliberately confusing).
I'm amazed that they are right so often in CT
But not always of course

Eric appears to achieve everything by himself and with Andrew (who's been quiet for a while) and with us.
It's really quite amazing.
