Has anyone paid someone to inventory your wine cellar?  I just inventoried my 700 bottle wine cellar through cellartracker and it's awesome!  I used the scanner (some) and the dymo dual label maker.  A client of mine saw what I did and she wants me to do the same for her wine cellar.  She has about 500 wines.  How much should I charge?  Thanks!

That depends upon whether you want to keep the relationship as just client, or friend.

If she's a real friend and you want her to remain a friend , you should charge very little to nothing.

If she's basically a client, then you can charge more.  Charging by the hour would make the most sense.  What's your time worth?

If she is a friend then you charge her nothing and she repays you with a nice dinner and some wine.

Thank you.  She's more of a client, but I get your point.

Industry rates are about $2/bottle FWIW.

eric... does FWIW = For What It's Worth?
...and are "industry rates" based on any survey or publication?

...oh & loven... since CT is doing a good chunk of the work...
hint hint with a nudge
...don't forget to factor into your fee... to compensate accordingly
