For those of you CT'ers that are London based I found a very good wine bar that has opened up just near Leadenhall Market (near the north side of London Bridge/5 mins walk from Liverpool street). It is called (and I am not sure what they were thinking ) Planet of the Grapes. However, do not be put off with this rather grim name - it really is actually a superb little shop. It is one of those places that are popping up more often in London where you can buy a bottle and drink it on the premises for a small corkage fee (I think about 8 pounds). Bedales in Borough Market is another bar that does this. The selection is very impressive and avoids the obvious - and the chap that I dealt with offered some rather interesting suggestions - all that came in under budget. web address is www.planetofthegrapes.co.uk Do those of you based in London know of any other similar bars? I am sick and tired of going to wine bars and having to pay 300% mark ups for generic plonk.
